This page will be updated throughout 2018 as TSA adds the latest preliminary data to its blog. Typically added about once a week, TSA shows how many guns were caught at each airport in the U.S. at the screening checkpoint - when passengers attempt to bring them through the security checkpoint, into the sterile area and onto an airplane. We will add these totals and keep a running tally here.

Nationwide, 3,957 guns were found in carry-on bags in 2017, a new record that shattered the previous record of 3,391 set the year before in 2016. Click here to see how many were found at each airport last year.

Data below covers January 1 - February 11, 2017. 460 guns were caught during this period.

For the record, DFW had 98 guns caught in 2013, 120 in 2014, 153 in 2015, 192 in 2016, and 211 in 2017.
