This page will be updated throughout 2018 as TSA adds the latest preliminary data to its blog. Typically added about once a week, TSA shows how many guns were caught at each airport in the U.S. at the screening checkpoint - when passengers attempt to bring them through the security checkpoint, into the sterile area and onto an airplane. We will add these totals and keep a running tally here. We will have a 2019 page up and running shortly.

Nationwide, 4,239 guns were found in carry-on bags in 2018, a new record that shattered the previous record of 3,957 set the year before in 2017. Click here to see how many were found at each airport in 2017.
