I wouldn't get too excited about this one; gov't leaders usually visit other countries and cities to drum up for investments. If I see Air China officials visiting DFW Airport maybe that would be a better indicator of good things to come for the big airport.
I'm just hoping that all non-oneworld international carriers at DFW are doing well: KE is a no-brainer, KL as discussed above, LF is "downgauging" slightly to A330 in winter but I'm sure are OK. What about TACA? didn't they start flying their E175 from A319 to DFW lately?
I was curious about KLM's load factors in March so I did some computations: KLM enplaned 3248 and deplaned 3537; flew in and out of DFW 17x that month and used an A330 with 287 seats. If the numbers are correct, here are their LFs: to AMS 67% and to DFW 73%.
for DFW's International Carriers: Air Canada --DFW-YYZ 57%; YYZ-DFW 63% British Airways --DFW-LHR 84%; LHR-DFW 83% KLM Airways --DFW-AMS 72%; AMS-DFW 63% Korean Air --DFW-ICN 89%; ICN-DFW 87% Lufthansa --DFW-FRA 60%; FRA-DFW 59% Mexicana --DFW-MEX 74%; MEX-DFW 62% I was having trouble with Grupo TAC...
