American Airlines Group Reports Q2 2017 Profit

American Airlines Group earned an $803 million after-tax profit during the second quarter of 2017. Some other items:

Returned $500 million to stockholders in the second quarter through the repurchase of 10.0 million shares for $450 million and dividends of $50 million

Cargo revenue was up 13.1 percent to $196 million due to a 15.1 percent increase in cargo ton miles.

During the quarter, the company invested $1.1 billion in aircraft as it took delivery of 16 mainline aircraft and 4 regional aircraft.

Over on Anet its posted Doug Parker made a comment during the conference call of reconfiguring DFW terminals, and more detail on that?

I saw that thread as well but didn't hear the exact comments. The thread seemed to indicate they thought DFW was not as efficient as other airports with one super large terminal. Personally, connecting at DFW is easy with the SkyLink - max ride of 9 minutes to the furthest terminal from whichever one you are in. Much better than say LAX where in most cases swapping terminals you have to exit the sterile area and go through TSA again.

I agree, DFW is easy to connect through. Interesting some of AA management thinks PHX or IAH terminal arrangement to be more optimal than the horseshoes.
