Any questions about DFW or any of its carriers?

What do you think are DFW's chances in getting Virgin America to fly from DFW to say, SFO or SAN? Nil? And why (OK, one answer:AA, is that right?)?

Pretty much no chance of that. Look at Spirit Airlines. They started a daily DFW-FLL service about two years ago. American cut their fares to MIA and FLL, and Spirit was gone after a few months. Let's not forget Air Tran and their DFW-LAX twice daily service. American matched the fare on ALL 40 some daily flights to the five LA area airports - Air Tran dropped the route after a while.

Hard to compete with Goliath, even if the airport gives you free landing fees for a year. And the above examples occurred before oil was anywhere near $100-120 a barrel.

Agreed, I highly doubt that either DFW or IAH-HOU will attract VA. If I were to wager on any Texas city(s) landing (if you'll pardon the pun), I would say that AUS or SAT would be the most likely candidates.
