DFW Foreign Carrier Estimated April 2019 Loads

Postby Greg on Fri Jun 07, 2019 1:15 pm

Here are the estimated load factors for the foreign carriers at DFW for April 2019. Japan and Lufthansa are the standouts for the month in the high 80s. Air France's first full month on the DFW-Paris CDG route sees them at a respectable 76%.

I'm not sure about Qantas, but April looks like it was ugly for them. Nearly half empty A380s. Now as I always state, I am estimating their seats blocked for the return (based on something I was told ages ago), so that could well be off. But the fact is, when you have 25 A380s and you run 8,702 arriving and just 4,890 departing passengers, the loads can't be good either way. The flip side is that QF is apparently selling out most of the premium seats on this route most days, so money may still easily be made. 14 First, 64 Business seats.

How did we arrive at the data?
I took publicly available seat counts and other published data showing available data and came up with these estimates. I do not guarantee 100% accuracy, but I think we are fairly close to the true numbers. OAG, Various Source websites, airline sites etc.

Assumptions:
AeroMexico - 60 flights with 99 seats
Air Canada - 146 flights with 76 seats
Avianca - 24 flights with 120 seats, six flights with 150 seats
British Airways – 20 flights with 226 seats, 10 flights with 219 seats
Emirates - 30 flights with 354 seats
Interjet - 50 flights with 150 seats, two flights with 148 seats
Japan Airlines - 30 flights with 195 seats
Korean - 21 flights with 277 seats
Lufthansa - 30 flights with 255 seats
Qantas – 25 flights with 484 seats inbound and 355 seats outbound (lower outbound estimate for blocked seats)
Qatar – 30 flights with 354 seats
Volaris - 15 flights with 179 seats
