December 2013 DFW Foreign Carrier Load Factors

Postby Greg on Thu Feb 20, 2014 4:48 pm

DFW has published their December 2013 International Traffic Statistics, and we can now extrapolate Load Factors:

Air Canada - 66.80% Departing, 73.29% Arriving; Total 70.04%
AeroMexico - 90.26% Departing, 88.17% Arriving; Total 89.21%
British Airways - 91.14% Departing, 87.43% Arriving; Total 89.28%
Emirates - 90.88% Departing, 97.25% Arriving; Total 94.06%
Korean - 58.32% Departing, 68.71% Arriving; Total 63.52%
Lufthansa - 83.73% Departing, 80.93% Arriving; Total 82.33%
Qantas - 64.37% Departing, 80.48% Arriving; Total 72.42%
TACA - 92.99% Departing, 66.04% Arriving; Total 79.51%

British and Emirates continue, even in the winter, to post outstanding loads, and AeroMexico's totals are nothing to sneeze at. One wonders if they may warrant a third flight or second destination beyond Mexico City. Korean has taken a big hit, and I'm not sure if that is just winter drop off or the effect of AA entering the DFW-ICN market. Last month they posted 72.83% departure loads and 84.71% arrival.

I flew Aeromexico this December and had a good experience with them for a whole lot less. I paid roughly $525 round trip vs. 900 from AA. They definitely should keep this fare as low as possible to steal more market share from AA.

That's probably why KE is going down to 5x weekly instead of daily
