Wells Fargo bank has filed a lawsuit against American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) for allegedly returning three leased Boeing aircraft later than agreed between the parties, The Dallas Morning News has reported.

According to the lawsuit filed in the Southern District of New York, the carrier returned the three units 49, 45, and two days after the due date during the second half of 2017. In December 2017, Wells Fargo asked the carrier for USD883,334 in compensation for the delay and an additional USD100,000 in fees. American Airlines then refused to pay, saying that it held the aircraft longer in order to perform all necessary checks and maintenance and return them in adequate condition.
