WOW departing DFW

Postby panamboy70 on Thu Oct 18, 2018 6:34 pm

If this is true and I hope it is not, but suspect it is, WW will cease DFW ops next week, along with JFK. I had a feeling that once AA began their DFW-KEF route, that someone was going to through in the towel, and I suspected that it would likely be WW.

It has been one interesting year for us.

The article is quite misleading in that the WOW Air DFW-KEF service was always set to be seasonal, ending at the end of this month. The article seems to imply it was a year-round route that is being axed - not so. The Points Guy is off base here.

WOW had 90% plus load factors in June, July, and August at DFW... not sure on yield, but certainly it did much better than WOW at CLE, STL, CVG, etc. Whether it returns next year is up in the air, WOW is apparently in a precarious financial position and rumors fly it is possible to even collapse. Time will tell.

Icelandair is year-round on the DFW-KEF.
