December 2022 Foreign Carrier Estimated Load Factors at DFW

Post by Greg »

Here are our estimated load factors for the foreign flagged carriers at DFW for December 2022. Obviously something is wrong with Volaris - I think the airport has a typo in their reported numbers or Volaris ran a number of charter flights and the seats were not showing up in public inventory. So I wouldn't put much stock in the Volaris counts. Also keep in mind that Qantas counts are station wide - I can't break down the difference between Melbourne (MEL) and Sydney (SYD) flights.

Overall, these are pretty healthy numbers across the board that I have to imagine put smiles on the faces of various airline executives. I'd love to know how many of the F and J seats are being filled on these aircraft as well, but alas, we will have to do with raw numbers. If someone is aware of an airline blocking seats on any of the routes, please let me know and I can adjust the estimates.

How did we arrive at the data?
I took publicly available seat counts and other published data (OAG, airline sites etc.) showing available seats for sale, ran that against the actual passenger counts that were provided by DFW Airport, and came up with these estimates. I do not guarantee 100% accuracy, but I think we are fairly close to the true numbers.

Total Flights Per Airline
AeroMexico 31, Air Canada 91, Air France 13, Avianca 27, British 28, Emirates 31, Finnair 18, Iberia 13, Japan 44, Korean 18, Lufthansa 21, Qantas 38, Qatar 66, Turkish 31, Viva 41, Volaris 44
