Will some international carriers return to DFW?

Post by jdaniel001 »

With Qantas, Emiretes, and Cayman flying or planning on flying to DFW, will that help attract some former international carriers back to DFW?

Former carriers that once served DFW -
Thai (742/743)
Aeromexico (D9S/?)
Air France (340)
Air New Zealand (742)
Japan Air Lines (742)

Did I leave anyone out?

Sabena A340 but that carrier is long gone.

Air France was at DFW for a few months, they won't be back anytime soon. Sky team partner Delta doesn't have the feed at DFW, and the demand isn't there. AA has a daily 763 which is enough lift.

Would love to see a Japan 787 on DFW to somewhere. Osaka has been tried twice from DFW by AA. Maybe another to NRT or swapping a flight with AA?

For the love of St. Aunt Jemima that would be wonderful. It would be wonderful to see a 3rd daily NRT flight with a JAL 787, and maybe another Osaka flight with the 787. It would be wonderful to see Cathay bring in the 747-8 on a direct from Hong Kong. Oh well we can all dream.

Thai- no, they also just cancelled their BKK-LAX n/s
Sabena- dead
Aeromexico- maybe, but why didn't they do it after Mexicana stopped flying?
Air France- no
Air New Zealand- when hell freezes over
Japan- I hope so, a 787 in place of one of AA's flight

And for crying out loud, tell Iberia to take over use its metal in lieu of AA to Madrid, and send the 767 to say... Manchester?

What about Westjet to Edmonton, Alberta?

LAN to Lima?

Cayman Airways is sitting on the tarmac now.
Flew inbound tonight and will turn around and leave tom morning and head back to Grand Cayman (Obviously)

Theyre set to run the flight for the next 8 weeks, only. With a 737-300. I'll try to get some pics but I'm sure some of you dedicated spotters will get better pics...Will say it looks quite small next to Qantas

Ill tell you one thing, those DFW - NRT flights are pretty full even though they're twice daily (take that IAH, once a day pfft!)

Anyways I just got back from a whirlwind trip - DFW - NRT - HND - ULN - ICN - DFW.
Most of the folks on DFW - NRT were connecting from Latin America / Mexico, saw many auto and electronics executives and professional types.

Ill tell you one thing rather than a 3rd DFW- NRT, AA should start DFW - HND.
NYC is the only other Us airport that serves both the Tokyo airports.

Edit:just read that they cancelled the flight !
